The past few that we've had while being married have been awesome!! Dustin always goes above and beyond for me and I always feel so special on that day. Last year he bought me a luxury trip to Vegas- it was the best vacation of my life, the year before that he bought me a pearl bracelet and a white sapphire necklace and sent me flowers to work, the year before that he built me a custom headboard for our bed that I had seen on the DIY channel and loved. So this year I wanted to do something really special for him. So I went online and bought tickets to the Daughtry concert that's coming to Atlanta in June. He was so surprised and loved it!! I can't wait until June!! And by the way, he lived up to expectation this year too. He got us tickets to the Zing Zang Zoom Circus while it's here in Atlanta. I haven't been to a circus since I was a very little girl when my family lived in Vidalia and I've been dying to go every year that it comes to town. I love the circus!!! :) I would mark this Valentines Day as a success!!Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-36551351352761169522010-02-16T10:43:00.000-08:002010-02-16T10:59:02.274-08:00Movie Review: Percy Jackson and the OlympiansWe went to see this movie because I had read the book and liked it. However, if you're in the same boat as me--just going because you liked the book--don't go. This movie doesn't follow the book at all. They use some of the same characters but change everything else. The storyline is different, major events are left out, and scenes are just created for the movie. I annoyed the crap out of Dustin by leaning over every two minutes to say, "That's not in the book." "That's not how that happened." "I can't believe they left that part out!" "She doesn't say that in the book." "Actually in the book...". Poor thing eventually told me that he would never take me to another movie based on a book I'd read if I didn't stop talking during the movie. But just as a movie, standing all on it's own, this was a pretty good movie. If I had never read the book and didn't notice all the changes, then I would have liked the movie. Dustin liked the movie just the way it was and he was the regular movie-goer audience. I would recommend this to anyone who just wants to go see a good movie with a good story, but not to all the avid book readers out there.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-1225942089148817622010-02-16T10:37:00.000-08:002010-02-16T10:42:43.616-08:00Movie Review: Dear JohnOverall this is an ok movie. Just don't go expecting the best acting in the world. You get pretty faces in this movie, not acting. The first part of the movie is extremely boring and Dustin threatened to walk out on me. The chemistry between the pair is a little odd, you're not going to get Leonardo and Kate in this movie. If you're going for a tear-jerker, the only emotional parts are between father and son, not Amanda and Channing. The best acting was done while the two were filming separately, he in Iraq and her at school, basically when all they were doing was reading letters. The story is great, just like any Nicolas Sparks story is, but you may want to just stick to the book on this one.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-12599501610154773282010-02-16T10:33:00.000-08:002010-02-16T10:37:33.239-08:00Movie Review: Sherlock HolmesLOVED THIS MOVIE!!! This movie was great! I didn't even notice the length as the movie played and was totally wrapped up in the storyline and details the whole time. Robert Downey Jr is brilliant and Jude Law was actually pretty entertaining! I'm always a fan of Rachel McAdams, but I think someone else would've been better in this role. The pictures and stunts are great and humor is placed throughout the movie in the best spots. This will definitely be part of our movie collection!Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-57946382294145932382010-02-16T10:31:00.001-08:002010-02-16T10:33:54.971-08:00Movie Review: AvatarEveryone seems to love this movie. It was a good movie, don't get me wrong, but you could feel the three hours pass slowly. The graphics are great, the acting is great, the storyline is good. The only bad thing is the length, way too long. But overall, Dustin and I liked it. I don't think it's a movie I would own or ever watch again, but a good movie. It definitely deserves any awards that it may win.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-72001587808196216542010-02-16T10:11:00.000-08:002010-02-16T10:30:33.296-08:00Soooo......I guess it's time for an update. I've been so sick I couldn't bring myself to update anything on our blog. Actually, I haven't been able to do much of anything besides come to work. Pregnancy doesn't seem to sit too well with me. I get sick in the mornings, I'm sick and tired during the day, and I pass out around 6:00 every evening. Needless to say, the only time I see Dustin is when I have to get up in the middle of the night to pee and on the weekends. Weekends used to be the worst time of the week for me, but now they're becoming a little easier as long as I remember to snack every hour. :) But enough about the woes of pregnancy, back to an update. Dustin and I take it pretty easy during the week, but on the weekends we've been trying to plug in as much as my body will allow us to. We love to squeeze in movies when we can and go shopping at the mall. Last weekend, we bought our first baby item! We bought a little mini baby bath robe! It's so cute!! And white, so it could be for a boy or a girl. If anyone has talked to Dustin lately, then they have the distinct impression that we're definitely having a boy, but that's not necessarily true. At our last doc appt the doctor said that she thinks it's boy, but to wait until our next appt to be sure. Dustin called his family on the way home and told them we're having a boy and then posted it on Facebook. Yeah. But the wait is almost over, we should be getting a definite answer this coming Monday. I can't wait to know for sure!! As soon as we find out we'll be painting the nursery, buying the furniture and bedding, and starting our registry. You know, all the fun stuff!! :) So many of our friends and family have just had their babies, so we're looking for the fast forward button on this pregnancy stage so we can have our little baby now! And we do have a name picked out, but just for a boy. We haven't been able to come up with a complete girl's name yet. But if it is a boy, the name will be Duke Theron Norton. We've had this name picked out for 3 years! It will be great to finally be able to use it! Other than baby news there is not much going on in our lives. I'm working. Dustin's working. Our house is a mess bc I'm so sick and tired all the time. :) We've been snowed in a lot from all the bizare weather GA has been having. (Which I HATE.) I think that's all though. :)Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-71870077567111360992009-12-07T12:18:00.001-08:002009-12-07T12:26:11.367-08:00Baby NewsSince Dustin and I are finally expecting after a long road of infertility we are extremely obsessed with all things baby now. Dustin got an app for his iPhone that keeps track of our pregnancy, gives us info and pics on a regular basis, and stores our favorite baby names and doctor appointments. I've signed up for babycenter.com, which sends us weekly email updates about the baby and keeps us on track with things we need to learn or take care of. I also signed up for thebump.com, which is my favorite site, it's also the sister site to theknot.com for weddings and thenest.com for newly weds. I love it!! It has this amazing checklist of everything that I need to take care of during a pregnancy and different "milestones" that come up and when I need to expect them. It's great!! We also took a trip this weekend to Borders and picked up A Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and Belly Laughs. We've owned What to Expect When Expecting for years, the information actually helped when we were trying to start a family before going to see a specialist. We're really excited about this and it should be a fun road to travel down!!!Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-30538279012016013962009-12-07T12:13:00.000-08:002009-12-07T12:17:35.567-08:00Movie Review: 20122012 was a great movie. We loved the special effects, the acting was great, the storyline had us on the edge of our seats the whole time. It was quite sad at times, so be prepared for that. It is a long movie, so hold off on the drinks as much as you can. We had a large icee and I think I was about to die by the end of the movie. Overall, I would suggest this movie to others to go see.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-87116981629824627152009-12-07T12:11:00.000-08:002009-12-07T12:13:54.166-08:00Movie Review: Planet 51This new Disney/Imax production wasn't too much funnier than what you saw in the previews. Maybe Dustin and I just weren't in a kids kind of mood when we went to see this movie, but neither one of us were too impressed. This was a movie I would have rather rented On Demand and watched in the comfort of my home for $5 instead of $9.50 per person at the theater.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-78575014583982874932009-12-07T12:02:00.000-08:002009-12-07T12:11:35.772-08:00Thanksgiving 2009Thanksgiving was great this year. We found out the day before Turkey Day that our latest IVF was a success!! We are expecting our fist baby and hoping for a strong healthy pregnancy. :) We've been super excited about this and spending lots of time planning the next year. Turkey Day was great too. Dustin's mom and her husband, Tommy, came over for dinner. We had so much food!! I did make the mistake of buying a turkey that was too big for our roasting pan, so I ruined our new oven with juice dripping out of the pan constantly. For some reason, no amount of foil would keep it from getting to the bottom of our oven. But Dustin came home from the turkey bowl with a large disposable roasting pan and saved the day. Gotta love those hero husbands!! After turkey day we were able to spend lots of time together, resting, shopping, going to doctor visits, and just enjoying our new news! We called family and friends to let them know and spread the good news.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-6924570947192387902009-12-07T11:59:00.000-08:002009-12-07T12:02:32.292-08:00Movie Review: New MoonDustin and I went to see New Moon on opening day. We had great seats, got there in plenty of enough time to get treats, and really enjoyed the movie. The special effects were so much better than Twilight. I even think that the acting was a little better---for some of the actors, others just stink all around. They did a great job keeping up with the book, but made a great movie too. I was thrilled when we left the theater. I loved the movie. Dustin even liked it too. I'd see it a second time before it leaves theaters.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-78019971807453837652009-11-19T11:45:00.001-08:002009-11-19T11:46:43.550-08:00NEW MOONThe wait is almost over! I've had our tickets for almost three months and I can't wait to see the movie tomorrow afternoon. Dustin and I are leaving work early, heading to the theater to camp out, grabbing lunch, and then settling in for one sure-to-be awesome movie! Stay tuned for a movie review!Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-19009684788821169962009-11-19T11:34:00.001-08:002009-11-19T11:44:27.791-08:00Meet Miley<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVdHOmLWiAsIeSL7eLuNsYt-fhIptDP1khbAiKm_5XF6xc_upfhxtCtkIbjImEUUSr4UdwwxEij8NHg0oPxfSMevuy2A3h7joXfIfoHSrWgrTARyuJOfdCNQZ_kInGGLP797bRiT3rswc/s400/Miley+and+Dustin.BMP" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405902715065008082" />

Last weekend Dustin and I were pretty bored. I had just gotten finished with two surgeries earlier in the week and needless to say that I couldn't do much. So while sitting in the living room trying to think of things to do we decided to go and get a puppy. Dustin had found one on craiglist and had been pitching the idea to me for a few days. So we decided to finally go and get her. We drove all the way out to McDonough and picked up a very cute, very small shih-tzu puppy. She's now 8 weeks old and is the most precious little thing in the whole world! I'm still not quite so sure what we've gotten ourselves into, but her cuteness is just too much to resist! Here's to hoping that we get her potty trained soon though!! :)Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-20441710684736937742009-11-05T10:02:00.000-08:002009-11-05T10:22:15.076-08:00Dustin's Birthday/Halloween/Movie ReviewOk, so this past weekend was extremely busy. We had Dustin's 32nd bithday to celebrate, Halloween to enjoy, and we went to a movie. For Dustin's birthday I gave him three gifts spread out over the weekend: 1) a softball glove for me so we could play catch--he's been wanting me to do this for years, but my fear of flying objects has kept him at bay, however, I figured it would be a great way to spend time with each other and enjoy the fall weather; 2) a new pair of brown casual shoes, he was desparately in need of these, we saw them the weekend before at the mall and I had to sneak back during the week and get them for him; 3) a coveted pair of Oakley sunglasses--he has wanted a pair of good quality sunglasses for as long as I can remember, I was hesitant to get them because he's always breaking, scratching, or loosing his sunglasses on a job site, but these look great on him and he really loves them. We went out to the Japanese Steakhouse Friday night and had a great meal. We were accompanied by a vampire and cowgirl that were heading to a Halloween party afterwards. The little vampire was super cute! Saturday, we ordered wings and watched GA/FL football game. After that was over we left and headed out to the mall. When we got there we were amazed at how many parents had brought their kids for trick or treating. But then again it was a little misty outside. We stopped by the pet store to look at the puppies. I'm finally coming around to the idea of owning a pet. I've never been too keen on the idea, but I told Dustin that we could get one if it stayed small it's whole life and we kept it squeeky clean at all times. We picked out a toy shih-tzu that was so adorable. We got to play with him for about 10mins or so before the sales guy brought over the price. I had no idea that puppies could be so expensive! They wanted $870!! No way. So we left and walked around the mall for a while trying to decide about what to do about the puppy and enjoying the variety of characters walking around. We grabbed a smoothie and sat down on a bench to talk about the dog and watched the Hulk, two pumpkins, several princesses, Winnie the Pooh, and Hook walk by with their little trick or treat bags. By the end of the night we decided to look around Carrollton a little bit before purchasing a puppy. If we could find one for $250 instead of $870, we would take it. We left the mall and headed for the Carrollton Movie Theater to see This Is It. The movie was amazing! Dustin and I both loved it and found a whole new appreciation for Michael Jackson. He didn't looked drugged, out of his mind, or weak at all in the shots from his rehersals. We finally made it home around midnight and crashed. We're really not used to staying up that late! :) Sunday was a very nice day. Church went well, and for once Dustin and I were able to attend Sunday School together. We haven't been able to do that since we first got married. My callings have always kept us apart. We relaxed for the rest of the day once we made it home and prepared for the following work week. Overall, I'd have to say that it was a pretty amazing weekend!Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-82993286722257346692009-10-27T09:30:00.000-07:002009-10-27T09:37:52.795-07:00FHE NightLast night for FHE Dustin and I sat down and planned out our Thanksgiving holiday. I can't say that we accomplished too much just because we're trying to work around so many people's schedules and keep ourselves happy and relaxed at the same time, but we worked on it none the less! And that's a major deal for us, we never plan anything in advance. :) After our planning session we played a good ol' game of Paper Toss on his iPhone. You have no idea how much fun those little games are until you play them with your spouse with heads leaned in close laughing at each other's jokes and mishaps!! :) Once we finished, we got to watch one of our favorite shows, Lie to Me--it was so good!! Over all, it was a great night. We got to spend close to two hours, just the two of us, talking, and having fun and then and extra hour relaxing and watching a great show. That, my friends, is a wonderful night.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-36585219761309127982009-10-26T09:46:00.000-07:002009-10-26T09:58:45.433-07:00Movie Review: Cirque du Freak The Vampire's AssisantDustin and I LOVE movies. We go at least once a weekend and have been known to catch up three movies a weekend. So I decided to start posting movie reviews. Dustin and I always debate a movie once we're out of our seats and heading for the theater exit. So here are our opinions:

Ashley: I thought the movie was actually a little boring. It was slow at times, but had a few interesting scenes. I liked the visual effects of the vampire running fast with the kid on his back, I thought this was more how it should have looked in Twilight. I liked the relationship the main character had with his family, but his voice really annoyed me. I didn't like all the language. There was way too much cursing for it to be a PG-13 movie. I didn't like the fact that there was an old Disney actor in this movie trying to prove that he can 'hang with the big stars' by cursing like a sailor. I hate to see Disney actors go bad.

Dustin: Actually liked it. Thought the visual effects were great and loved the story line. Didn't think the story was slow at all. Too much cursing.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-6637885223292944832009-10-20T10:37:00.000-07:002009-10-20T10:43:53.431-07:00Time to get out the scale!

So Dustin and I have made the decision to have professional pictures made of us for our 4th anniversary. We're going to re-do our wedding pictures in Centenial Park, but a little less formal-no wedding dress and tux, but definitely something nice. So we've decided to get back down (or as close as we can) to our original "wedding weight". This is going to be a big deal for us, because we've been trying to loose the weight since our first anniversary! :) It's amazing what being married can do to your weight! We lived off of frozen pizza and milk shakes our entire first year of marriage. That could have something to do with it. So we've got our goals set and we've made a plan. Let just hope we stick to it! The holidays are going to be tough!Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-40234634539471724152009-10-13T15:02:00.000-07:002009-10-13T15:09:04.819-07:00Fall DecorationsSo while Dustin was gone this weekend I took the liberty of decorating our house for the Fall!! I got super cute decorations from Wal-Mart and put them out right before he got home. It was a great surprise for him! I got place mats for the dinning table that are shaped like fall leaves and come in beautiful fall colors with a matching center piece. I got a fall wreath to hang on the front door too. I couldn't get it up before Dustin got home though. I spent a good 10-15mins trying to hang it on the door with a sticky hook. I must have dropped the wreath 4 or 5 times hoping it would stay and within seconds it would find itself on the foyer floor yet again. All in all it turned out great and our house has the perfect festive Fall feeling to it.Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-2544573343360604272009-10-09T11:51:00.000-07:002009-10-09T11:58:40.919-07:00Home AloneThis weekend Dustin went back to Florida with his mom and her new husband to visit Mira, our new neice again. She's growing so fast! He left yesterday and will be back Sunday night. I'm excited to be able to catch up on my cleaning and laundry! I plan on spending Saturday night with Tish so that I can make it to Snellville Ward on Sunday to hear Spencer Johnson's homecoming speech. I'm so excited to see everyone from the old home ward!Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-84773594594027496462009-10-09T11:20:00.000-07:002009-10-09T11:26:38.830-07:00We have a new neice!Hunter and Aimee had their first baby together on September 23, 09! Dustin started building this house over a year ago and as he worked on it I just fell more and more in love with it, so when it came time to put it on the market- we bought it instead! It still has a few finishing touches left, but it's a beautiful home and we love it so much! It has so much room!! I have a library, Dustin has his own office, we have a guest bedroom, a future baby room, formal dinning room, and an unfinished basement. I can't wait to finish decorating it!

Dustin and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04959833506416207911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2142096957359106902.post-3651906031892123752009-10-09T11:04:00.000-07:002009-10-09T11:06:39.549-07:00The Very First Post!I finally decided to start one of these to keep everyone updated.
