Dustin's Birthday/Halloween/Movie Review

Ok, so this past weekend was extremely busy. We had Dustin's 32nd bithday to celebrate, Halloween to enjoy, and we went to a movie. For Dustin's birthday I gave him three gifts spread out over the weekend: 1) a softball glove for me so we could play catch--he's been wanting me to do this for years, but my fear of flying objects has kept him at bay, however, I figured it would be a great way to spend time with each other and enjoy the fall weather; 2) a new pair of brown casual shoes, he was desparately in need of these, we saw them the weekend before at the mall and I had to sneak back during the week and get them for him; 3) a coveted pair of Oakley sunglasses--he has wanted a pair of good quality sunglasses for as long as I can remember, I was hesitant to get them because he's always breaking, scratching, or loosing his sunglasses on a job site, but these look great on him and he really loves them. We went out to the Japanese Steakhouse Friday night and had a great meal. We were accompanied by a vampire and cowgirl that were heading to a Halloween party afterwards. The little vampire was super cute! Saturday, we ordered wings and watched GA/FL football game. After that was over we left and headed out to the mall. When we got there we were amazed at how many parents had brought their kids for trick or treating. But then again it was a little misty outside. We stopped by the pet store to look at the puppies. I'm finally coming around to the idea of owning a pet. I've never been too keen on the idea, but I told Dustin that we could get one if it stayed small it's whole life and we kept it squeeky clean at all times. We picked out a toy shih-tzu that was so adorable. We got to play with him for about 10mins or so before the sales guy brought over the price. I had no idea that puppies could be so expensive! They wanted $870!! No way. So we left and walked around the mall for a while trying to decide about what to do about the puppy and enjoying the variety of characters walking around. We grabbed a smoothie and sat down on a bench to talk about the dog and watched the Hulk, two pumpkins, several princesses, Winnie the Pooh, and Hook walk by with their little trick or treat bags. By the end of the night we decided to look around Carrollton a little bit before purchasing a puppy. If we could find one for $250 instead of $870, we would take it. We left the mall and headed for the Carrollton Movie Theater to see This Is It. The movie was amazing! Dustin and I both loved it and found a whole new appreciation for Michael Jackson. He didn't looked drugged, out of his mind, or weak at all in the shots from his rehersals. We finally made it home around midnight and crashed. We're really not used to staying up that late! :) Sunday was a very nice day. Church went well, and for once Dustin and I were able to attend Sunday School together. We haven't been able to do that since we first got married. My callings have always kept us apart. We relaxed for the rest of the day once we made it home and prepared for the following work week. Overall, I'd have to say that it was a pretty amazing weekend!
